I took a break… for holidays, for the birth of a grandchild, for deliberation if I want to continue this hobby. Still on the fence. That being said, I was moved by a quote from the very deep sea of IG reels.
To paraphrase….what weighs heavy on us are unmade decisions
Maybe that is not all that weighs heavy but it is a good start.
Conversations not had
Issues not addressed
Relationships you are afraid to severe
Or positive opportunities
Goals not fully committed to
Bucket list adventures not scheduled
A commitment for personal time you keep saying you need
Meaningful undone items are deadweight on the brain.
Doing nothing can be a decision if you decide that is actually the right action or response to a situation and sometimes ….it absolutely is. NO response can be a very powerful response. But inaction because we are not sure is not. It is dead weight.
I like tradition and the sentimental and comfort. I have been at the same job for 26 yrs so this is clear. But all of us will be faced with difficult decisions in our lives and when I was faced with mine I learned this..
Are you not deciding because you don’t KNOW what you want OR because you are afraid to lean into what you want?
It might be as small as the decision to call and rekindle a friendship or as big as deciding to change jobs or move to a new city.
Lean in. Life is on the other side of fear.
